Chapters 29-31; things must come to an end sometime*

We are back at the beginning when Tyler aka the narrator has a gun in his mouth on top of a building and he is corrupted by Project Mayhem. He wants people to perceive him as this great Legend, that he's really not. All the support groups and Marla who perceive him as sick at first now know that he is not but they still all come to save him. The explosive in the building he is standing on never goes off so he pulls the trigger of the gun and doesn't die. He ends up in this mental hospital where people know him as Durden and tell him that Fight Club and Project Mayhem are still going according to plan. From this book I was able to realize that being someone your not whether it is your fault or not can end in really horrific circumstances. He ends up in a place that he should be, but all the chaos that he started and then wants to stop still continues and he wants nothing to do with it anymore. It is always better to try and have the best self perception of yourself and not to fall into consumerism because then the world and society will have bad perceptions of you and sometimes you cannot get your self out of the trap you created.
